July General Meeting and Chair Election

  • Phinney Neighborhood Association 6532 Phinney Avenue North Seattle, WA, 98103 United States (map)

We hope to see you at our July General meeting on July 17th, at 7:00 PM. Our agenda is very full and will include an election to fill the vacancy of the 43rd Democrats Chair position, consideration of PCO appointments, and a discussion around challenges facing the LGBTQ+ community today. We will have a panel of amazing community servants focusing on issues of Homelessness, Healthcare and Sex Trafficking. Together we will learn about challenges faced by some of our most vulnerable neighbors and how we might be able to contribute to making a positive impact in their lives. View the agenda here.

Election for Chair

Eligible voters for the position of chair include elected and appointed Precinct Committee Officers (i.e., PCOs serving in the precinct in which they reside). Acting PCOs (those who are serving in a precinct where they do not reside) are not eligible to vote for chair. If you have questions about your eligibility, please contact Laurie Goff at pcovicechair@earthlink.net or view the list of PCOs here.

If you are interested in running for chair, please submit a statement about your candidacy that we will share with the membership. The statement should be no more than 500 words; also please provide a picture of yourself and a 1-2 sentence introduction about yourself. We will be sharing the headshots, short introductions, and links to full statements with our members by email. Please submit your statements to Shayna Daitch, Communications Chair at communications@43rddems.org by July 6th, 2018 to be included with the July meeting notice. Statements arriving after that date will be shared in another email.

Candidates will also have speaking time at the general meeting.
